GANDERBAL : The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Ganderbal, Gulzar Ahmad today presided over the Weekly Block Diwas programme and listened to public issues and demands at Tehsil office Wakura, here.

The Block Diwas programme was attended by a large number of people hailing from block Wakura, besides PRIs.

Tehsildar Wakura, BDO Wakura and officers from line departments were also present on the occasion.

People projected several demands and problems being faced by them including uninterrupted power supply, better drinking water facilities, road connectivity and other issues of public importance.

After listening to their demands and issues, the ADC assured the PRIs and general public of the area that all their genuine issues will be discussed with the concerned departments and addressed in a time bound manner.

On the occasion locals commended the initiative of ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VKSY) campaign during which general masses are made aware of the multitude of government schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADC said that the Yatra has been rolled out with the intention to reach out to the unreached population to generate awareness about government schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, PradhanMantriGaribKalyan Anna Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Jan DhanYojana, PM AwasYojana, and others.

He appealed to them to participate vigorously in the Yatra to avail the benefits of such schemes.

Furthermore, he directed the officers to work in close coordination so that equitable development of all the areas is ensured.

The ADC directed concerned officers to resolve the genuine demands of the public on priority and submit the detailed report of pending issues so that the same could be projected to higher authorities for consideration.
