It is also a fact that one of the most significant challenges is the limited employment opportunities available to them. Due to the adverse situation in the region, many industries have suffered, leading to a lack of job prospects. This has resulted in high unemployment rates among the youth, leading to frustration and disillusionment but now things have altogether changed and Special opportunities are given to the youth to showcase their capabilities.
Empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir is not just a matter of addressing their immediate needs but also a strategic investment in the future of the region. By empowering the youth, we can tap into their potential and harness their energy, creativity, and innovation. When the youth are empowered, they can become agents of change and contribute to the social, economic, and political development of Jammu and Kashmir.

One such scheme is the “Himayat” program, which focuses on providing skill training and placement opportunities to unemployed youth. Under this program, youth are trained in various vocational skills, such as hospitality, healthcare, and information technology. They are then assisted in finding suitable employment or supported in setting up their own enterprises.
Another notable scheme is the “Udaan” program, which targets the education and skill development of the youth from the state. It provides them with opportunities to receive quality education and training in sectors with high growth potential. The program also facilitates their placement in reputed companies, both within and outside the state.
